The Ohio VOAD is a nonprofit, state level affiliate of the National VOAD. Ohio VOAD is a forum for nonprofit organizations to share knowledge and resources throughout the disaster cycle. The members respond to needs in Ohio, the nation, and around the world.
The Ohio VOAD member organizations meet regularly to collaborate on matters of mutual interest with regards to disaster preparedness, response, and recovery. The Ohio VOAD has a work station in the State Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and fully participates with government and private partners.
The organization focuses on four main principles: cooperation, communication, coordination, and collaboration. With these principles in mind, this umbrella network provides a main hub for coordination with volunteer requests while also eliminating duplicated efforts.
Do you need volunteers? Can you offer volunteer services after disasters or in times of need? Contact the Ohio VOAD to discuss membership requirements or how to use the existing volunteer network.
